VERTOMOBILE

Your housing cooperative uses the Verto water metering system provided by VertoNordic Ltd ("VertoNordic") for apartment-specific water metering and related measures, such as billing. This VertoMobile application relates to Verto water metering system and provides a resident of an apartment with the ability to review their water consumption data via their mobile phones.

As regards the actual water consumption data, your housing cooperative acts as the controller within the meaning of the applicable data protection legislation. As set out below in more detail, VertoNordic acts as a controller for the personal data content of VertoMobile other than the water consumption data.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

Using the VertoMobile application requires that you have legal access to the water consumption information of the house or apartment whose mobile code you enter to the application. Misuse of the water consumption information will result in criminal penalties according to the Finnish and/or EU law.

The following information is processed in the VertoMobile application:

VertoMobile uses your mobile phone's location in the login process. You cannot use the application without allowing the use of location information. Your location is always saved when the application asks you to log in with a mobile code or an NFC tag. Your location is also checked every time you use the application (but not saved), and if the location is close to the saved one, the validity time of the mobile code will be renewed. If you don't use the application near the saved location for 30 days, the mobile code expires.

VertoMobile shows water consumption information from the first login date onwards. The consumption report is delivered to an email address of your choice and can be ordered at maximum for one year period. Otherwise VertoLive shows information for the current and two previous months. If you remove the application and then install it again, you will lose visibility to the history.

The availability of VertoMobile depends on the equipment and communications link used by the user of the application. The user is responsible for obtaining and maintaining the equipment and communications links required to operate VertoMobile and the related costs. VertoNordic does not give any warranties regarding the availability and usability of VertoMobile. VertoMobile is being continuously developed and therefore, parts of VertoMobile or the whole VertoMobile may be removed, in addition to which, VertoMobile’s features may be changed or permanently or temporarily removed. The users will be notified of possible downtime and changes in advance via VertoMobile, if reasonably possible. VertoMobile is offered on “as is” basis without any guarantees, warranties or liabilities whatsoever. VertoNordic shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages caused to the user or third parties by the use of VertoMobile or its downtime, interruptions, delays, errors or deficiencies or for any other damages incurred in connection with VertoMobile.

PRIVACY NOTICE

As stated above, your housing cooperative acts as the controller as regards the water consumption data. Your housing cooperative will provide more information on the processing of the water consumption data. This privacy notice applies to processing, in which VertoNordic acts as the controller.

VertoNordic acts as a controller for personal data, which is collected in connection with the use of VertoMobile, such as user information. The contact information of VertoNordic is:

The personal data that VertoNordic processes as a controller is described above in the Terms and Conditions of Use. The personal data is processed for providing VertoMobile application. Additionally, VertoNordic may use the personal data for developing VertoMobile. In these cases, the personal data is however mostly statistic and aggregated or anonymous. The processing is based on the performance of a contract and on the legitimate interest of VertoNordic relating to the development of the application. If the personal data is not provided to VertoNordic, VertoNordic is not able to provide the user with VertoMobile.

The personal data is primarily obtained through the use of VertoMobile, which means that the user themselves gives the information to the application or the application automatically collects the information (for example, location data), when the user uses the application. The application does not collect any information, if it is not used.

In general, the personal data shall not be disclosed to third parties other than for your housing cooperative, if it is necessary for the use of Verto water metering system in your building. However, VertoNordic may use subcontractors in the processing of the personal data. Such subcontractors shall process the personal data only for the purposes set out above and in accordance with VertoNordic’s instructions. VertoNordic does not transfer personal data outside the EU or EEA.

VertoNordic processes the personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out above.

VertoNordic protects the personal data carefully. The data security measures used in VertoMobile are generally accepted in the data security industry and up to date (which is monitored regularly). Devices used in the processing are protected by appropriate firewalls and encryption. Additionally, backups are regularly taken in order to ensure the integrity, accuracy and preservation of the personal data. The personal data is accessed only by those employees of VertoNordic or VertoNordic’s subcontractor’s, whose work require the processing of the personal data.

The data subjects have right to request access to their personal data from the controller and to request the rectification or erasure of their personal data or restriction of processing. The data subjects also have the right to request the transfer of their personal data, which they have provided, to another system. Furthermore, the data subjects have the right to file a complaint with the Supervisory Authority.
